Comprehensive Balcony Waterproofing

We recently completed a balcony waterproofing project at a townhome complex on Halton Street in Toronto. This project required the use of advanced materials and a proven repair method to ensure long-lasting results.

Surface Preparation

The first essential step was preparing the balcony surface. We carefully removed the existing coating and sealants, ensuring no residues remained. Proper surface preparation is essential in creating a clean base for the new waterproofing layers.

Surface Waterproofing

With the surface prepared, we began the waterproofing process. We applied a water-based aliphatic epoxy primer as the first layer. This primer offers excellent chemical and UV resistance, which is crucial for outdoor applications. It also provides strong adhesion, ensuring a seamless bond with the next layers. Additionally, this primer is a no-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) material, making it safe for both outdoor and indoor use.

Once the primer had cured, we applied our specialized fast-setting polyurea-based membrane. This membrane has a strong, resilient polymer structure that provides lasting protection by preventing water vapor from reaching the underlying surfaces. Its excellent impact and abrasion resistance ensures durable waterproofing, even in harsh weather conditions and under heavy use.

By following these careful steps, we ensured this balcony is now well-protected against water damage. Our use of high-quality materials and precise methods reflects our commitment to delivering superior waterproofing solutions.
