Concrete Repairs and Waterproofing - a Multi-Phase Project

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

For over six years, we have been providing once-stop-shop solutions for high rise residential buildings in Toronto and around the GTA. One such example is a building located on Lee Centre Drive in Scarborough, where work has been carried out since March 2016.

During these years, waterproofing and concrete repair work has been done in the parking garage, utility rooms, swimming pool and locker rooms, badminton court, ventilation shaft, on the roof – including areas around AC units, in the elevator pits and around drainpipes.

Elevator Pit Waterproofing

One of the most recent projects was the elevator pit which required waterproofing. To fully repair and protect an elevator pit, a combination of crack repair, patching, and waterproofing membrane application might need to be done – depending on the condition of the pit.

In this case, cracks were repaired, and a waterproofing membrane was applied.

Crack Repair

Under traditional methods, two slabs of concrete cannot be fused together when there is a crack. This, however, is not the case through the use of our specialized materials which make monolithic 1.85 MPa adhesion possible. Not only can we repair concrete but also restore it to its original condition, even when wet.

It works both on single cracks and concrete surfaces with multiple issues - no need for complete resurfacing. Such rehabilitation is even done on concrete surfaces that are combined with metal structures.

Green Skin

This polyurea-based waterproofing membrane is ideal for applications that require a high level of protection against mechanical and aging issues. Its hydrolytically stable formula is unaffected by residual moisture and relative humidity, and cures in seconds which ensures efficient application.

This coating has been proven to withstand 30 years of freeze-thaw cycles.
